Making a Fist

"Making a Fist" is a great poem to read for anyone who is interested in getting into poetry. In the poem, the author is reminiscing on a time when her and her mother were on a very long road trip and the author feels as if her life is passing her by. She feels as if this is the end and questions her mother about death, which gives off the vibe that something went wrong during the trip. In the last stanza, she says that "she smiles when she thinks of her journey." This stanza perfectly wraps up the poem and gives off an uplifting vibe.
